The island of Ile aux Cerfs lies off Trou d Eau Douce in the largest lagoon of Mauritius and offers 87 hectares of luxuriant vegetation and preserved, white, sandy beaches. Besides the Ile Aux Cerfs Golf Club, one can also experience three beach restaurants and engage in a wide variety of activities on Ile aux Cerfs. Every day Mauritians and tourists visit the island; they depart in boats from the village of Trou dEau Douce and spend the whole day on the island. Several water sports activities are available on the island.

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden
The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden, commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanic Garden, is a popular tourist attraction in Pamplemousses, near Port Louis, Mauritius, and the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere. Famous for its long pond of giant water lilies, the garden was first constructed by Pierre Poivre in 1770, and it covers an area of around 37 hectares. The garden, for a long time was ranked third among all the gardens that could be admired over the surface of the globe, have been known successively as Jardin de Mon Plaisir, Jardin des Plantes, Le Jardin National de lIle de France, Jardin Royal, Jardin Botanique des Pamplemousses, and during the British colonisation, The Royal Botanical Gardens of Pamplemousses and The Royal Botanic Gardens, Pamplemousses. On 17 September 1988 the garden was formally named Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanic Garden, named after the first prime minister of Mauritius, as was the smaller SSR Botanical Garden of Curepipe.

Le Morne Brabant
Le Morne Brabant is a peninsula at the extreme southwestern tip of the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius on the western side of the island. It is highlighted by an eponymous basaltic monolith with a summit 556 metres above sea level. The summit covers an area of over 12 hectares. There are many caves and overhangs on the steep slopes. It is largely surrounded by a lagoon and is a well known tourist attraction. It is also a refuge for two rare plants, the Mandrinette and the Boucle dOreille. The mountain is named after the VOC-ship Brabant that ran aground there on 29 December 1783 on the cliffs. The peninsula of Le Morne benefits from a micro-climate. Le Morne Brabant Mountain was submitted to the candidate list of the World Heritage sites in 2003. In 2008, the nomination process concluded when UNESCO inscribed the site on the World Heritage List.

Facilities for visitors include two information centres, picnic areas and 60 kilometres of trails. There are four field stations in the park which are used for National Parks and Conservation Service and Mauritian Wildlife Foundation research and conservation projects. The park protects most of the islands remaining rainforest although much of this has been degraded by introduced plants such as Chinese guava and privet and animals such as rusa deer and wild pigs. Several areas have been fenced off and invasive species have been eradicated from them to preserve native wildlife. Many endemic plants and animals still occur in the park including the Mauritian flying fox and all of the islands endemic birds: Mauritius kestrel, pink pigeon, Mauritius parakeet, Mauritius cuckooshrike, Mauritius bulbul, Mauritius olive white-eye, Mauritius grey white-eye and Mauritius fody. source

Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark
The seven Coloured Earths are a geological formation and prominent tourist attraction found in the Chamarel plain of the Rivire Noire District in south-western Mauritius. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours. The main feature of the place is that since these differently coloured sands spontaneously settle in different layers, dunes acquire a surrealistic, striped colouring. Since the earth was first exposed, rains have carved beautiful patterns into the hillside, creating an effect of earthen meringue. source

The crater has been alternately described as 300 and 350 meters in diameter, and is 80 meters deep. The crater was formed less than 2 million years ago in the second phase of volcanic activity that created Mauritius. According to experts, the volcano is currently dormant but could become active at any time within the next thousand years. The crater is only accessible down a steep embankment which is considered dangerous. Water and silt have clogged the crater, making it even less accessible. source

Close to the coastline, the site offers ideal conditions for snorkelling with a rich biodiversity as well as calm and shallow sea-water.

Central Market
What better way to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a country than to stroll through its markets? Colors, scents, atmosphere: awaken all your senses and discover a concentrate of the island at the central market. You will find both foodstuffs and traditional spices and medicinal plants, some of which are renowned aphrodisiacs! The section devoted to crafts is well provided but be careful, not everything is locally made. The central market of Port Louis is one of the oldest sites on the island (more than 2 centuries). Whatever the time of year, this market on Queen Street near the main bus station is open every day. Popular with Mauritians, there is an abundance of fruit and vegetables of impeccable quality throughout the year.

La Vanille Nature Park

The Racecourse was inaugurated on 25 June 1812, by The Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) which was founded earlier in the same year by Edward Alured Draper, who served in different capacities, namely as Chief of Police, Colonial Secretary, Collector of Customs, Civil engineer, Registrar of Slaves, Magistrate and Colonial Treasurer. The Mauritius Turf Club is the oldest horse-racing club in the Southern Hemisphere and the second oldest in the world.[1] The race track follows a very selective right hand oval path and is relatively small in size, with a circumference of 1,298 meters (4,258.5 ft) and width between 12 and 14 meters (39 and 46 feet). The home-straight extends uphill and is 225 meters (738 ft) long. When Mauritius gained independence on 12 March 1968, the event including the flag hoisting ceremony was held here. Since then and for many years, the racecourse has seen the annual celebration of the accession to independence. source
